Bryce R. Hickerty

I am a dual Psychology and History major of Thompson Rivers University (TRU), in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Formerly I was a student at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) in Prince George, before transferring to Kamloops. Over my lifetime, I have worked in a variety of diverse jobs, including construction, logging, tourism, security, and food service. This assortment of career paths that I have in my past had the opportunity to explore and the many individuals I have had the fortune of meeting has shaped and inspired my interest in psychology, history, and academia in general. My personal passion for both psychology and history stems from my passion for people, understanding them and helping them. Through the marriage of these two disciplines I hope to better understand my fellow man as well as the world around me, and it is a personal goal of mine moving forward to utilize these skills in pursuit of a career in teaching. As a result of my background in psychology, the focus of my research reflects my understanding of psychology as well as history, and thus my research project has focused on the nature of memory and its place in historical writing, looking at this issue from both a historical as well as a psychological perspective.
